The drug and related problems below would not even be a problem if we were mostly a righteous nation. We should become “wise as serpents and harmless as doves, just like Jesus Christ recommended. Unless our collective spiritual vacuum is filled with Christlike actions, evil will continue to be a force to be reckoned with. Like Edmund Burke said, “All that is required for evil to triumph is for good men [and women] to do nothing.”
Here is some information I have been aware of for nearly three decades:
1. The late Gary Webb, investigative reporter for the San Jose [CA] Mercury News, put together a series called Dark Alliance. There is also a book by the same name.
Related to this, John Deutsch, CIA Director at the time, faced an angry black audience in Los Angeles in November of 1996 when information from Webb’s series became known, alleging that the CIA was allowing drugs into Watts (and
other areas of the U. S.) mostly hurting the black population.
2. Celerino Castillo was a DEA agent in Guatemala, and he had proof that the CIA was running drugs into the U. S. to help fund their covert activities. When then Vice President George Bush visited Guatemala, where Celerino
was stationed at the time, he told Bush about his discovery, but Bush just smiled and walked away. I was able to talk to Celerino on the phone, and he simply confirmed the same thing that is written in the caption to one of the photos in
Celerino’s book Powderburns: Cocaine, Contras & the Drug War.
3. Of course, guilty parties will always disavow or mock someone who tells the truth. Webb, like Castillo. felt pressure from different people and organizations due to the information those two authors put out to the public. Damage
control was done to spin Webb’s information, that is was “largely discredited,” and he supposedly committed suicide 10 December 2004, by TWO bullets to the head.
4. Just over four years ago, there were 4 candidates for Lyon County Sheriff. So, I put together a packet for each of them, with questions I wanted answers to. To my surprise, three out of the four came to my house in the country, and I
talked with them and asked them questions from the packet. One of my questions was why there was a drug problem in Lyon County, which is in a farming area. Most of the inmates in our county Jail are housed for drug offenses, and it
has been that way for many years. In a rural area, it’s hard to not know what everyone is up to, so why would drug operations, including selling and purchasing, be able to flourish? I did not receive any decent answers from any of the
candidates. So apparently, the low level people are in jail, while the middle men or even higher continue to walk free? Does that make sense, other than one or more people must be paid or otherwise persuaded to look the other way?
5. From the Vietnam era, some of you will remember Air America, which was a front for a CIA operation. Bo Gritz, former Green Beret, mentioned drugs were being flown out of the Golden Triangle by Air America.
6. You can also look up the heroin crop production in Afghanistan from the late 1990s through 2010, how it varied during a certain number of years. Here is a link to that data.
