Some Simple Patriotic Homework

lives of the signers

Hosea 4:6 reads: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”

Between Memorial Day and Independence Day is a very appropriate time to learn more about the struggles and sacrifices that were necessary to give birth to the Republic we now live in. After reading from the Holy Bible, make some time each day or at least each week, to become familiar with those men and women who decided it was best to fight for freedom, rather than live as a slave.

You can best begin the quest, by simply reading the Declaration of Independence, which will take about 45 minutes-more if you research the origin and details of the complaints that the citizens had against King George and Parliament, over the years, that were not addressed in a proper manner.

The book shown below appears to be the best to accomplish that goal, as the last section lists in great detail the various animosities between the colonists and the government of Great Britain. Not to be ignored are the sacrifices of the fifty-six men, and often their families, to promote freedom. If you read only one patriotic book this year, and every year wouldn’t hurt. Choose this one. You won’t regret it.
